CHEHALIS – Anyone interested in
volunteering in Lewis County can meet with multiple nonprofits at one time
during a Volunteer Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. April 21 at the VR Lee Building in the
Chehalis Recreation Park, 221 S.W. 13th St., Chehalis.
Among
the participating organizations are: City of Centalia, Wolf Haven, Lewis County
Long Term Recovery Organization, Centralia Police Volunteers, Lewis County Head
Start, American Red Cross, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Catholic Community
Services Volunteer Chore Services, Lewis County Juvenile Court – GAL and the
Lewis County Literacy Council.
The
fair will be held before the Center’s 24th Annual Volunteer of the Year
Reception honoring adult volunteers and volunteer groups. The recognition event
is from 6 to 7 p.m. and includes presentation of the awards, light refreshments
and entertainment. The keynote speaker for the event is Harold Coleman, who
along with his wife Regina, was selected as the 2003 Group Volunteers of the
Year. Presentation of the awards will be made by Bill Schulte, Lewis County
Commissioner; Chehalis City Manager, Merlin MacReynold and Patrick Sorensen,
Centralia City Manager. The event is free and open to the public.

and Thurston Counties is to support volunteer efforts
to address community needs; and inspire, engage, and mobilize volunteers. The
